Welcome back to The World According to Dad Burnett.  This will be a new series about our trip to California, or, more to the point, our trip home.  The trip out will just be a flight with a three hour stop in Vegas airport.  I know that will take a little weight from my pockets!

The purpose of this trip is to pick up the new to me RV that our friend Mary told me about.  I'm very excited, not only about the trip, but to get the newer and larger RV.  As most of you know, I love to camp and this will make it a lot easier with much more room inside, and better and larger sleeping areas.

I'm not taking this trip alone like I did last year when I spent twenty days touring around Georgia.  I'm very lucky to have Mark Franklin, aka @boogerwatley along to help drive and keep me from getting lost.  I tend to get lost even with the help from the Garmin-I try to act smarter than she is at times. That seldom goes well for me.

I have enjoyed my old RV, it has served me well, and is still in great shape.  I put a lot of TLC into that machine, new roof, new brakes and calipers, new tires, etc.  It just doesn't have enough sleeping room.

I thought I had some pictures of the old one, but if i do I can't find them.  In any case, this is just a test of the blog to see if I could still do it.  Hopefully, as I practice a little things will get better.

I'll try to document and post the more interesting things that happen on the trip, and will put in pictures as best I can.  In the meantime, I need to get moving as there are several things I need to finish today before going to Nashville this afternoon.  I don't want to have to get up at 3:00AM to drive to Nashville to catch a plane.

Thanks for reading,

Jeff
